Youth Civic Engagement Leadership Lab
The Youth Civic Engagement Leadership Lab (YCELL) project is designed to empower English-speaking Black youth in Quebec to emerge as civic leaders. It combines a series of workshops and several youth-led activities over the course of one year to equip Black youth with the necessary skills and platforms to engage in community-building and advocacy. YCELL especially emphasizes civic literacy, leadership development, and political participation within the Black anglophone community. The participants will work with community mentors, experienced professionals, and leaders from the civic and policy sectors who will provide guidance, share expertise, and foster valuable intergenerational connections.

Join Head & Hands’s Board of Directors
Head & Hands is a bilingual, non-profit, social justice organization working towards a society where young people are at the center of decision-making for their lives. They offer critical medical, social, and legal services to youth with a commitment to non-judgment, harm reduction, holistic care, education, and confidentiality.
They encourage all applications to their Board, though they are especially interested in recruiting applicants that fall within their age mandate (ages 25 years old and younger): they’re committed to creating an organization as diverse as the communities they serve. There is no need to have any formal training or prior board experience to be on the Head & Hands board.
